Missouri Community College Association Names New Director of Professional Development and Member Engagement

Today, Missouri Community College Association President and CEO Brian Millner announced that Cliff Judy has been named the new director of professional development and member engagement.

Judy will lead MCCA’s efforts to advance member engagement and experience by providing quality professional development opportunities.

“We are thrilled to add Cliff to our team at MCCA,” Millner said. “As a small association, it’s important that we’re able to adapt to the changing needs of our members. Cliff brings a unique background and valuable skillset that will undoubtedly help us expand MCCA’s professional development offerings and enhance overall member experience.”

Judy joins MCCA from Newsy with more than 15 years of experience in journalism. For the past eight years, Judy has led a variety of teams, product launches and initiatives while Newsy grew exponentially in size and reach. Prior to Newsy, Judy worked as a reporter and anchor in Wichita and Kansas City.

No stranger to Missouri’s community colleges, Judy credits Metropolitan Community College - Maple Woods as a major factor in getting his career off the ground. Classes at Maple Woods helped him get his first internship in TV, which kickstarted his passion for journalism.

“Although a journalist by trade, I’m very excited to join MCCA and enter the world of higher education,” Judy said. “I wanted to find a new passion but continue to have a positive impact on the community. I now get to help community colleges level the playing field for Missourians who’re working to better their lives, which checks all the boxes.”

Judy is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and currently lives in Columbia with his wife, three children and their dog. Judy and his wife are the owners of MyTurn, a small apparel company promoting images of girls working in STEM, agriculture and other fields in which women are vastly underrepresented.
