In response to the uncertainties presented by COVID-19, many colleges and universities have asked their employees to work remotely. This new policy leaves many employees and their managers working out of the office and separated from each other for the first time. Our panel will provide specific steps that managers can take without great effort to improve the engagement and productivity of remote employees, even when there is little time to prepare.

Christina Hubbard

Christina Hubbard is a Senior Director of Strategic Research at EAB. Her research focuses on academic advising and working with various student populations.

Dr. Hubbard has spent twenty years in higher education including ten years in a community college where she gained experience in advising, program management, and serving post-traditional student populations. She has taught online for over 10 years and gained experience managing remote team members when she led a college access and success program that served adult learner, necessitating significant remote work form staff. She joined EAB in 2017 where she has continued her research on serving post-traditional students.

Dr. Hubbard holds a PhD in education from George Mason University, where she published her dissertation on the role of holistic advising on the persistence of adult community college students. She also has a Master of Education in Student Affairs from Regent University and a certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension.
